This instrument was bought from Merrylands Music in New South Wales when Pam visited Perth in June 2004. It cost AUS$2200, which was about £865 at the time and an absolute snip. Matons were still very rare in Europe then but were championed by Tommy Emmanuel and it was after talking to him at a gig in Norwich that we decided to invest in one of these Australian made instruments.

The Maton is a good choice for accompanying a singer, it's got a great action, it's small and easy to carry around and the pickup system is excellent.
